Business Administration Overview
The Business Administration program will connect personal values with ethical business behaviors; develop the disciplinary competence for effective problem solving; think outside of local contexts; key business principles and gain experience in aspects of business management; skills needed to manage employees; maintain financial records, build team and leadership skills. Subjects covered but are not limited to Microsoft Office, Critical Thinking, Strategic Planning, Time Management, Communication, Professionalism, Human Resource Assistant, Bookkeeping and Payroll, Business Administration Assistant, Social Media Strategist. Resume building is included in the program.
 

Program Objectives:

  • Demonstrate ethical conduct in all job-related activities.
  • Present an image appropriate for the profession of business in appearance and behavior.
  • Communicate clearly when speaking and in writing.
  • Demonstrate a respectful attitude when interacting with diverse client populations.
  • Apply self-management skills, including time management, stress management, and adapting to change.
  • Apply interpersonal skills, including negotiation skills, conflict resolution, and teamwork.
  • Apply critical thinking skills, creativity, and innovation to solve problems.
  • Demonstrate commitment to excellence in the business profession and to continuing education and training.
  • Demonstrate knowledge and skills in areas of business administration role, including human resources, accounting.
  • Perform mathematical calculations essential to the duties of business administration in a variety of contemporary settings.
  • Demonstrate understanding of major trends, issues, goals, and initiatives taking place in the business profession.
  • Receive and screen business revenue, banking information completeness, accuracy, and authenticity.
  • Assist other employees for weekly, monthly goals, ideas to increase business.
  • Prepare daily/weekly presentations (weekly/monthly and annual numbers).
  • Recognize and solve problems systematically to make better business decisions.
  • Manage, develop, and motivate personnel to meet changing organizational needs.
  • Discover how diversity and values strengthen working relationships and contribute to effective problem solving.
  • Leverage technology in a global environment to create a sustainable competitive advantage.

The MyCAA (My Career Advancement Account) Scholarship is strictly for military spouses and is used as a workforce development program. In addition, the MyCAA scholarship provides up to $4,000 tuition assistance.

This scholarship will help military spouses cover the entire cost of courses at MedCertify as they pursue certificates and certifications necessary to gain employment in high-demand, high growth portable career fields, and occupations. Separated Veterans

The Department of Labor’s Employment and Training Administration (ETA) implemented Priority of Service for all Veterans to provide scholarship assistance through SWAs, local WIBs, One‐Stop Career Centers, and other targeted grantees. 

Priority of service means the right of veterans to take precedence over a non‐covered person in obtaining all employment and training services.

Unemployment

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) program offers scholarships to certain dislocated workers in the United States. Adults that have been terminated or laid off (including self-employed), eligible for or exhausted unemployment income and unlikely to return to industry or occupation are eligible for this scholarship. 

Spouses of a member of the Armed Forces who lost employment due to permanent change in duty station or is unemployed, underemployed and has difficulty finding or upgrading employment may also be eligible.

The Workforce Innovation and Opportunity Act (WIOA) is a program developed by the U.S. Department of Labor to help improve the public workforce system and help low income adults and other eligible adults meeting certain criteria. WIOA also helps employers hire and retain skilled workers.
