The Military Spouse Career Advancement Account (MyCAA) Scholarship

The MyCAA Scholarship (Military Spouse Career Advancement Account) gives eligible military wives or husbands $4,000 of tuition assistance to help gain certification towards a new career.

What is the MyCAA Program?

The MyCAA Scholarship Program is awarded to eligible military spouses who seek certification, license, or an Associate’s degree in a career field and occupation that is highly portable such as medical, business, and IT fields. $4,000 is provided to those who qualify, which, in many cases, completely covers the cost of education.

Who is Eligible?

  • If you are married to an active duty military service member in the following branches: Army, Air Force, Marines, Navy, and National Guard on Title 10 orders.

  • Pay grades of service members must be E-1 to E-6, W-1 to W-2, and O-1 to 0-3.

  • The military spouse must have successfully completed high school.

What are the steps to apply?

Confirm MyCAA Eligibility

  • Your spouse is on active duty in pay grades E1-E6, W1-W2 or O1-O3.
  • You need to start and complete the coursework while your spouse is on active duty.

Talk with a Certified Career Counselor

  • Discover your strengths, interests and capabilities, and learn which jobs are best for you.
  • Develop an individual career plan, or MyICP, based on your background, experience, challenges and growth opportunities, and the type of job you’d like.
